The Story
After nearly two decades of serving some of Houston’s favorite street tacos, Tacos A Go Go is moving up the street — literally. The Heights location is relocating from White Oak to the historic former Lola Neighborhood Diner space at 1102 Yale, bringing with it a larger kitchen, fresh tortillas made daily, and something brand new: a full cocktail bar curated by Anvil’s Bobby Heugel.
“I’ve always wanted to have a real bar inside Tacos A Go Go,” says founder Sharon Haynes. “When Bobby offered to help, we knew it was meant to be.”
What to Expect
Street Tacos — classics like pastor, barbacoa, picadillo, and grilled shrimp, plus all-day breakfast tacos.
Cocktails by Anvil — a menu inspired by Mexican spirits and family-owned tequila and mezcal producers.
Fresh Tortillas & Family Packs — handmade corn and flour tortillas and take-home kits from sister concept Fajitas A Go Go.
Why It Matters
The move marks a new era for a beloved Houston staple — one that pairs its signature tacos with an elevated cocktail experience while keeping its neighborhood roots. For the Heights, it’s a win-win: another reason to walk or ride down 11th Street for good food, familiar faces, and a cold margarita.Intro (1–2 sentence version)
