The Story
A century after his Sicilian great-grandfather opened a café in Houston, Andrew Adams has revived that family legacy on Heights Boulevard. His new café, Caffvino, blends old-world charm with local flavor — serving espresso and pastries by day, and transforming into a quiet wine-and-dessert bar after dark. Nearly every detail nods to history: a swing chair once owned by Adams’s grandmother, wood salvaged from the original family café, and a layout that keeps the home-like feel of its predecessor, EQ Heights.
“If I can’t have my family around, at least I get to have them around,” Adams says, surrounded by heirlooms and Heights nostalgia.
