The Story

After winning fans in Idaho and Arizona, Matty G’s Steakburgers has made Houston its first Texas home — a sports-themed “mini hall of fame” packed with vintage jerseys and memorabilia from legends across football, baseball, and hockey. Owner Matthew Gorman calls it a place built for connection, where families can share a meal, trade stories, and remember the moments that made sports magical.

“It brings generations together,” Gorman says. “Where a grandfather sees a jersey on the wall and says, ‘I remember when Willie Mays made that catch.’”

What to Expect

Steakburgers — Matty G’s signature blend of meats pressed on the grill for a crispy crust and juicy center.
Lobster Rolls & Street Bites — a nod to coastal comfort.
Hot Dogs, Wraps & Salads — quick, hearty game-day favorites.
Sixteen TVs & Sports Memorabilia — a nostalgic setting that doubles as a neighborhood hangout.

Why It Matters

Matty G’s adds a classic American diner-energy to the Heights — a throwback to simple food, family time, and sports storytelling. As the brand’s first Texas location, it deepens the mix of 11th Street and Studewood’s dining scene with something easygoing, nostalgic, and crowd-pleasing.
